We’ve had a cracker couple of days down here in Melbourne, and on one of them, I was lucky enough to work, cutting up some steel, at the Sandringham marina amongst seagulls, boatsĀ  and the pirates who work them.

The best thing about this – other than the tents pitched mere meters from the track with nil bar a few concrete bricks to keep the action ending up in their soup-in-a-can dinners – is that the driver in the pit-stop probably has a Lucky Strike hanging from the corner of his mouth as his car is stuffed with so much fuel it spews a geyser.

This is Ginger, my great friend Gus’ dog. He and his lovely family have been on safari this last couple of weeks so I inherited little Ginger. What a sweetheart!
