Chevy Jet Plane.

February 28, 2011

A hood ornament on a ’55 Chevy which is and has been residing in the shed, patiently waiting for some attention. This ornament, looking like an abandoned billionaire’s toy in a airfield of broken dreams, a constant reminder of time wasted and half cooked ideas. Screaming silently “Daddy, make me go fast…”.

Rad Day.

January 24, 2011

I was invited to the Air-Cooled M.C. Christmas party down in Mornington about an hour and a bit down the coast from Melbourne. The gathering took place on one of the boy’s properties, a property filled with all toys desirable and packed with a fun park of tracks and trials courses to test the toys. It even has a small speedway. What a fun day. Read the rest of this entry »

And Yet Another…

January 24, 2011

Yes, it’s a ’62 T bird, a half-finished project that was shuffled out the door to make room for another. So many nice motors everywhere! Having so little to finish on this, I would have definitely pounced, had I the cash and if I wasn’t already flush with half finished motors. Read the rest of this entry »

Colour Chart.

September 6, 2010

Here my friend-friends, we have a Fiat Sport Coupe colour chart. How good is it!! I will take photos of the Positano Yellow Coupe we have down at the factory either today or tomorrow and post it here when I get the minutes.

Porsche.

August 31, 2010

As Professor Porsche (best name ever) walks the hallowed halls of his posterity, past each one of his sleeping creations, you can only imagine what’s going through his head. Each individual motor would rev as he clops past, the noise of rubber shrieking as the rear-set engine screams delight in his imagination, while reciting his inner factory-walk mantra.

“Keep it together, keep it together, keep it together…”

Oswald.

August 30, 2010

You may remember Oswald from the previous post “Proud New Father”, well, time has ambled and come to a point where the reins of responsibility for restoration have been graciously handed over to me. With many ideas for coolness been tossed back and forth between Daddy and Day-Carer, Oswald is nearing the day where he will take his place on the podium of “Cool”. This car will turn heads and raise fists as he rides low and slow through the streets. Stay tuned for installments.

Flick Me One…

August 30, 2010

Paying homage to the old FJ Land Cruisers, the lads at Icon are hand building these beauties and rolling them out the door for a ant’s nose under a lazy $100K. To see more, smash this.

Forgiveness Please.

August 25, 2010

Sorry for the tardiness in posts, I have been at war, the enemy: the ordinary. Here are some photos from the trenches.

Fiat Abarth ot 1000.

May 6, 2010

Here, my friends, we have delight-in-auto: the Fiat Abarth ot 1000. There is something unusually attractive about this car. Based on a Fiat 850, which could play the role of the single provincial taxi in a film about grandmas, the ot 1000 was another of Mr. Abarth’s accelerated oddities. A curiosity himself, Carlo Abarth ladled soup into funny things until they sounded like all the hornets in a tin bath and went like a jet engine’s hero; the Fiat 600 (see here), for instance, was another body on his Frankenstein table of fastness.
